Holding His Hand Forever

This weekend we attended the wedding of a family member. We hadn’t been to one since we announced our engagement and started planning our own wedding so this gave us a chance to steal ideas take notes, brainstorm, and let the butterflies start to flutter.

The hall, where they also got married, was decorated beautifully, with black ribbon tied in perfect bows cascading over white linen and candles reflecting off of mirrors.

As the bride made her way down the isle goosebumps spread across my arms, her eyes focused solely on her groom. His joy filled the room bringing us all into their love for a tiny second.

One by one the guests took their seats and the vows began. Words of commitment, matrimony, and promises were exchanged and I felt Brian reach for my hand.

Glancing down the row I could see each couple beside us hand in hand, they too embracing the vows.

While the bride and groom said their vows he squeezed my hand tight, ensuring I knew he was making the same promises.

Till death do us part.

I hated wedding planning. HATED it. But I loved walking in the door of that little church on a Spring morning and seeing my love at the front. I cried like a baby!
