I am Overwhelmed….but with What?

It happens once every couple of months.

Makes me stop whatever I’m doing, freeze for that moment in time, and hold my breath while I gaze around the room.

My eyes fall on each piece of furniture, picture frame, and ficture.

They soak in dirty dishes, dust particles, and stacks of papers.

I am overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude, disbelief, and unexplainable love.

I try to understand how I ended up where I did.

With a family.

A daughter.

A home.

How my life became so full.

My mind swims as I try to comprehend my fortune.

The laughter my house explodes with every morning, and our hurry to be together again each night.

Made up songs and dance moves on a weekend drive.

The races to the mailbox and always loosing to the toddler.

My mind swims when I attempt to explain my thankfulness.

The love I have.

All of it a dream come true.

I almost thought you’d go the way I was going to go with a post yet unwritten, titled ‘Overwhelmed’. And I’m glad you went the way you did, because Leighann, you deserve it all. The family, the daughter, the home, the happiness. xo

I feel that a lot lately, especially as the boys grow, I find myself wanting to be with them more…to see what they will say or repeat or KNOW in this moment. It’s enough for me to leave laundry unfolded and blog posts unwritten and DVR filled…to be able to enjoy the miracle that is my children.

    I SOOOOOO “get this” 🙂
    Yea, for full chaotic lives!
