A Toddlers Pick

The rooms of our house are filled with talking teddy bears, animated games, interactive toys, and activities geared towards engaging a toddler.

But none of these things can capture her imagination and attention like a container full of craft balls.

Ah, I love to watch their amazement with the simplest things. My son loves stickers . . . just sticking them down and pulling them back up . . . also covering himself and anyone else around in them.

I always say it’s pointless getting toddlers toys. Their favourite things are non-toys!

We often have balls on the floor as well, but that’s more a result of my son being an aspiring nudist.

Boys are different though, they probably would have tried to play a war game with them, or shoved them in their nose.

Dude seriously! my kids don’t play with any of their toys. The other day Claire was playing with a tiny rubber hose that came off of one of our water sprinkler toys and a little bubble blower. The hose was “Tonguey” and the bubble thing was his bottle. Rachel is also prone to carrying around empty bottles of all kinds. W.T.F.

isn’t it fun (and funny!) the things that capture their attention… like the cardboard boxes and wrapping paper at their first Christmas/birthday?? who cares about the toys – gimme the wrappings!! Goose is currently into “adult” things… she want MY necklaces, and she wants to help me with dishes/laundry/dinner, she wants to use a REAL phone… and her imagination is amazing – she’s constantly surprising me with the things she thinks up 🙂 I love it!
