Enjoying it while it Lasts

The snow started during the early morning and didn’t stop until mid afternoon.

We hurried into our snow suits, mittens, and hats before the sun melted it away again.

Slushy, muddy, and mild winters aren’t something we’re used to.

Give us blistering winds, blinding snow storms, and freezing rain.

Snow days, boots covered in salt, and rosy cheeks.

Excuses for hot chocolate, warm sweaters, and cuddling under the blanket.

All of the great things that a Canadian winter has to offer.

Great pics! I actually miss snow this year too. It melts hours after we get it. We have had a dry winter in NY too. It is expected to snow today, so maybe the kids will actually get their snowsuits on for the third time this year…

so jealous. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Here? The most snow we had was less than an inch and it didnt even stick to the roads.

Ours has only recently stuck to the roads. It’s snowing again today and I’m home from work because of the storm.

A canoe and a quad!! What a great idea… and something that my husband would love!

Our winter here has sucked this year… the amount of snow we have gotten has been so little compared to other years. We haven’t even been able to go snowmobiling.

I can appreciate the beauty of a snow day (although I’m glad I don’t get snow here 😉 ) It was always so much fun growing up and having snow and a day we could play and then warm up.

Growing up I would love snow days because it meant we were off from school. Now? I hate it. I am so not a winter person! Luckily for me we’ve had a mild winter this year.

I hate to say it…since my body revolts against cold…but I do miss having the snow. Chunky is so super pumped when he gets to play out there and it gets him out of my hair.

I would enjoy the cold more if I had winter boots that kept my feet warm.
And a winter coat that kept me warm.
I have neither one of those.
Instead I have an awesome basket to hold photo albums.
When I asked for a coat and boots for christmas he must have heard differently.

One of these days, I’m going to experience a winter like that. I wouldn’t even know what to do with myself. I probably wore my coat less than six times this “winter”.

It blows my mind sometimes that at the same time I am sitting by the pool in eighty degree weather other people are sliding down a snow covered hill! I love winter! I feel like it’s been summer here for months.
