Treasures Like This

In 1973, on their wedding day, my parents received a gift from my great grandmother.

In 2012 it was passed to us.

Oh, I love it. What a gift. Things like that are so much better than a bedspread you could get at Pottery Barn (says the girl covered up with a crocheted blanket from her husband’s grandma AS WE SPEAK).

I’m getting really nervous but it’s a good kind of nervous. I can’t believe after a whole year of planning it’ll soon be all over.

I had no idea she had it all these years. I’m going to put it away for my daughter and hope that she has the same reaction

Gifts like this make my heart swell with happiness since I’m a quilter and I know the time, energy, and love that goes into making a quilt.
