There in the Quiet

The lights have gone out.

Once my eyes adjust I will find a wall.

I’m going to sit for awhile, there in the quiet, and let my anxiety calm.

Sink into my sadness.

I won’t fight right away.

It’s comfortable there in the dark.

But, when I’m ready I’ll slide my hand along the wall and follow it to the light.

Not knowing how long the walk is.

That’s why I brought comfortable shoes.

Sad when you feel it coming. I hope it’s just a short walk in the dark. Sending virtual hugs and love.

I am behind on my reading and I am just getting to this post after reading today’s post. I am truly sorry for your sadness and for your loss. Your writing, however, is so beautiful. Your words and the visuals you create with them blow me away. I, too, hope the walk is a short one.
    take care,
