Not a morning goes by when I don’t feel your toddler hands wrap around my hair and tug.
Not a day we don’t rise without you crawling over us, pulling our eye lids open, and yanking the blankets off.
Toddler songs bounce off of the walls, and endless questions begin before coffee has even been brewed.
Your dad and I are tired.
We’ve started daydreaming about your teen years.
And we’re giving you fair warning.
The minute you begin sleeping in we’re going to be on you like a peppy toddler hyped up on morning sunshine.
You can guarantee an annoying hair tug, some serious cuddling coupled with head sitting and back jabbing, jumping on the bed, and eye lid lifting.
We’ll be singing, loudly, and pulling blankets off of your warm bed.
There questions about your social calendar, a spontaneous family board game, or we might just bust out our best dance moves.
All at 7am
Your screams of, “MOOOMMMMM, GET OUT!” and “GAWWDD, WHY CAN’T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE?” Will let us know you remember days past when you heard our pleas of , “Just five more minutes…”
We’re soaking in every second of your delicious toddler phase and milestones but never doubt our excitement over your teenage years.
The best is yet to come my love.

Haha, too funny!!
I’m thinking of getting a vuvuzela for when they hit 14 and don’t want to get out of bed . . . and it will be glorious (for me).
oh the giggle…oh yes. I too, look forward, to the time when I can blast LAW & ORDER as they pull the covers over their heads.
you made me LAUGH, on a MONDAY!!!
xo
7am… That’s pretty generous…. I’m thinking 5:30-6am! Ahhhhhhh sweet revenge!
Love!!!!!
Ha ha! We say the same thing!
