Since Christmas we’ve been watching our P’s & Q’s, standing up straighter, using the good napkins, and wearing our best dinner jackets.
The silverware is shined, fancy drinks are served, and we speak only in English accents.
It’s important that one appears sophisticated when one has Royalty living with them.
There are serious fashion decisions to be made daily; the pink, purple, or teal dress? Bracelets and a necklace? A crown or a headband? Shoes or slippers?
Do we collect the horses and carriage or should we take the plane?
Where is the knight?
The dedication she shows her subjects is fierce and can be seen through her demands for more cookies, later bedtimes, more T.V., and her refusal to step down from her throne and wear PJ’s.
It’s been an adjustment for us now that we have a member of the Monarch in our house but we’re adjusting.
