In Like a Whisper

Did you hear that?

It was a whisper.

But not quite.

It was so quiet I almost didn’t catch it.

That’s how you came into my life.

Like a whisper.

But not really.

So quiet I almost didn’t catch you.

And then?

You were gone.

But I knew you were there.

Even if no one else saw you.

Heard you.

Felt you.

I knew.

But you couldn’t stay.

And now I’m closing the door.

You aren’t coming back.

My heart hurts.

But I know what’s right.

I love you.

I’ll see you some day.

I’ll hold you.

Like I was supposed to.

When you came.

In like a whisper.

Out like a ghost.

I’ll rock you gently and call you by name.

Smell your sweet smell.

Kiss your soft face.

And whisper I love you.

I can guess what this is about, this little whisper. If it is what I think it is I want to reach though this screen and wrap my arms around you and hug you and cry with you until we can’t cry anymore. XOXXOXOXO
