If You Can Give a Mom A Moment

If you can give a mom a moment here are a list of things you can do to make that moment incredible.

1. Pack up all of the kids, everything they will need for the day, hour, minute, help them with their shoes and their coats while mom sips on her coffee, don’t yell at them while one steps on the others toes, the oldest pulls the youngest’s hair, the baby cries endlessly because she’s hot. Slip out the door, closing it gently, and go for a drive leaving her to a quiet house.

2. Clean up all of your shit from the floor of the bathroom. Socks in the hamper that is right beside where you leave your clothes, t-shirts taken from the side of the tub, underwear away. Clean the hair out of the sink, wipe around the toilet, or better yet aim with care.

3. Check to make sure the basket of clothes are clean or dirty before putting dirty clothes on top of it, and then, if it is clean, put said clothes away making angels appear from Heaven.

4. Shhhh. Be quiet.

5. Pick up all of the bowls and spoons and cups after you are finished with them and put them into the dishwasher. The sink is available but why there when the dishwasher is empty and waiting for you to fill it up? It’s right beside the sink in case you have forgotten.

Follow these five simple steps and you will give the mom in your house the relief she requires in order to function fully and completely.

Sanely.

Happily.

And without too much alcohol.
