Being a parent has so many more pieces to it than I ever imagined. Not just the parts where we look at our children and want to freeze time, or the parts where we lock ourselves in the bathroom for five minutes of sanity, but the parts that no one can really tell you about.

The parts that break your heart, like when your child comes home crying because someone called them ugly, or the first note home from the teacher telling you that the shining star you thought you had spent 10 minutes in the principals office for flooding the bathroom.

No?

Just me?

Today I’m lucky enough to have one of my posts featured over at Mamalode and I’m talking about one of those times when our hearts break for our children.

Hope to see you there!
