A Mindful Life

Here in this life be mindful.

Wear that dress that you are saving.

Tell the girl in HR that she has a really nice sweater on, ask where she got it (maybe she has a coupon?)

Get angry at injustice (and do something about it).

Say NO, and use it as a complete sentence.

Love with your entire self (even if your heart might hurt one day).

Smile at strangers and laugh at their awkward glances back at you.

Put down your phone, look around, and listen.

Spin on your spiny chair at work (because why else do you have one?)

Clap your hands and get excited over little things.

Yell out when you see something happening that’s not right (ignoring it makes you just as much a part of the problem).

Stand up for truth.

Jump in puddles, get your legs wet, splash your kids.

Scare people for fun (unless they have a heart condition).

Wear tights (yes… wear them.. they’re sooo comfortable).

Sleep in.

Leave the dishes in the sink.

Share.. share good news.. share cookies… share hugs… share laughter… share time.

Ask questions. Don’t just do as you are told.. as why.

Buy those boots.

Day dream.

Dance in your car and sing as loud as you can.

Walk slower.

Look up at the stars.

Talk to your family, ask them about themselves, and listen to their answers without thinking about yours.

And show compassion when you don’t really want to, because sometimes that’s all someone might need that day from a stranger.

Live this life fully… it really is quite amazing.
